- Hand washing facilities and hand sanitiser will be available throughout the salon and used by staff, clients and visitors.
- Whilst not mandatory clients are to be encouraged to wear face masks during their visit and there will be masks made available for those who do not have their own.
- Staff to wear face visors covering the nose, mouth and eyes (and will only remove when on a break) these will be cleaned regularly during the day. Each member of staff will also be provided with two reusable face masks with filters which the member of staff will wash at 60 degrees after each use.
- Staff are to wear disposable gloves and aprons which will be changed between each client and the used ones disposed of after use.

Tools & Equipment

- All salon staff are Barbicide and Barbicide Covid-19 certified.
- The management have also completed health and safety, Covid-19 and back to work plan by Monroe Beauty training academy
- Tools will be cleaned and sterilized after each client.
- Barbicide jars are used for immersive disinfecting.
- An autoclave will be used for sterilisation.
- Tools will not be shared between staff members.
- There will be sufficient tools in order to rotate clean and sterilise between each client and at the end of the day.

- There will be no towels in use on the nail desks -only paper desk rolls.
- Towels on beds in the treatment rooms will also have couch roll but will be replaced between each client and washed at 60 degrees.
- Couch roll, desk rolls will be replaced between each client and disposed of in a safe responsible manner (pedal bins with bin liners are available throughout the salon)

Work Surfaces

Possibility of infection transmission if surfaces are not regularly cleaned down

- Each therapist will be responsible for cleaning their own workstations after each client
- There will be no sharing of workstations
- After use each therapist is responsible for cleaning the surfaces in the treatment room they have used including door handles etc
- Signage displayed in salon for reminders of regular hand washing technique and coughing/sneezing etiquette.
- Compulsory sanitising on entering the salon
- New disposable gloves to worn for each client and each different treatment and/or increased frequency of handwashing or hand sanitising.
- Frequent disinfection of work surfaces
- It is intended to have internal doors kept open however if not possible then therapist is responsible for cleaning after room been used.
- Gloves to be used when handling the telephones and computer and to be changed after doing so and especially when then going on to treat a client.

- Pedal bin (lined) in each treatment room to ensure safe disposal of single use paper products and tools.
- Tools will not be shared between staff and to be cleaned and sterilised between each client.
- Chairs and workstations to be cleaned after each client and before inviting next client into the salon
- No reading material
- Salon has been reconfigured to allow 2 metre social distancing between workstations.
- Product and equipment will be prepared in advance to minimise movement to communal working areas
- Clients will not be allowed to handle products.
- Nail fobs will be shown by the therapist and if they come into contact with a client will be cleaned and sanitised before replacing back on their hook.
- All appointment times now include cleaning times for frequent cleaning of work areas and tools
- Staff will change their clothing choices daily and will launder immediately after use.
- Those staff that use public transport will not travel to work in their uniform
- Tissues and hand sanitiser will be available throughout the salon and treatment rooms
- Toilets will be cleaned after each client/staff member, paper towels will be available instead of hand towels.

Clients or staff may need assistance or medical attention in the event of an emergency which involves risk of contact contamination

- People involved in the assistance to others during an emergency do not have to stay 2 metre apart BUT must pay attention to sanitisation measures immediately afterwards including washing hands
- Anyone (staff member or client) presenting symptoms of a cough or temperature will be sent home
- We will retain records for 21 days of all clients attending the salon
- Any cases that involve suspected exposure of Covid-19 from the workplace resulting in hospitalisation will be reported to RIDDOR

- If any crockery or kitchen utensils are used (by staff only) they will be submerged in boiling water for a minimum 15 minutes and then washed and left to air dry at the end of the day
